Kracher & friends

The name Kracher now stands for more than sweet wine. It actually has become a brand of an entire palette of tasting pleasure products. And they all have in common is that they were developed in cooperation with good friends, and are produced by good friends – Simply
Kracher & Friends !

Winery Schwarz

With the friendly help of Mr. K.
The charismatic Hans Schwarz – a butcher by profession - produces three powerful wines in Andau, Austria´s Burgenland. All of these wines have an intense, full body: the white Schwarz-Weiß; the red Schwarz Rot; and the latest addition, a dark and aromatic Schwarz Schwarz, which isa sweet wine made from dried Zweigelt grapes. When the project was started in the 1990s, Schwarz consulted with Alois Kracher and the original Austro-Californian, Manfred Krankl. Today, "the friendly help of Mr. K" is just a formality; now Schwarz goes his own way and decides for himself how to put his ideas and imagination into the bottle. Nevertheless, the tradition continues. Before they are bottled, the wines are tasted by the Krachers and Manred Krankl.

Kracher Fine Wine

The world loves the wines from Burgenland. And that is why Burgenland should be open to the wines of the world. Adhering to this motto, Kracher imports some of the best and rarest wines from France, Italy and California as well as Germany and Switzerland. Through a daughter company, the wines are delivered to Austrian gastronomic establishments. Some of the most famous names in the program of Kracher Fine Wine (in alphabetical order, though certainly not complete) include Ausone, Au Bon Climat, Bruer, Giacomo Conterno, Fox Creek, Fritz Haag, Gantenbein, Grimaldi, Havens Henschke, Dr.Loosen, Magpie, Miura, Egon Müller, Sine Qua Non, Weinbach, Wild Duck Creek and Zind-Humbrecht.

Schröck & Kracher Ruster Ausbruch

A special kind of adventure: Gerhard Kracher dared to cross the Neusiedlersee (Lake Neusiedl) and produce together with the eminent winemaker from Rust, Heidi Schröck, a classic Ruster Ausbruch - a truly legendary wine in style and origin. Welschriesling, Grauburgunder und Furmint are blended into a cuvée that exudes animated sweetness, fine biscuit and dried fruit flavours and a mineral stature. Schröck and Kracher produce also the Greiner, an opulent Welschriesling with discreet residual sweetness.

Kracher Grand Cru

This blue cheese from the Ennstal valley in Styria is laced with Beerenauslese for delicious salty-sweet pleasure. Created years ago by Alois Kracher and cheese sommelier Herbert Schmid (now at the Stadtgasthaus Eisvogel), the Kracher Grand Cru became a commercial success and is now produced by the Schärdinger dairy.

Kracher & Staud wine gelée

The Viennese marmalade producer, Hans Staud, has affined a highly aromatic wine jelly with Beerenauslese from Kracher. The portion of wine (Chardonnay and Traminer) is more than 55%, which gives to the jellies a soft grapy expression and, at the same time, a smooth, concentrated fruitiness. These jellies go perfectly with cheeses, cold meats and spicy sausages and especially with full, pungent terrines.

edel & gut

Milk from the Tyrolean Alps meets sweet grapes from Burgenland. In Landeck, Tyrol, pâtissier Hansjör Haag produces dark bitter chocolate and creamy milk chocolate using cream from the Tiroler Grauvieh, or Tyrolese Grey Cattle. The fillings for these mouthwatering edel & gut delights contain fine Traminer Beerenauslese from Kracher.

Kracher & Gölles pomace brandy

The Styrian spirits producer Alois Gölles distills grape pomace from Gerhard Kracher´s wines to a clear, cleanly concentrated brandy. The botrytis aromas become concentrated during distillation, and evolve into opulent tones of overripe dried fruits that have a lengthy stay on the palate.

Kracher & Gölles vinegar

Kracher wines also are made into vinegar by Alois Gölles. The red and white wine vinegars have a delicious spiciness, subtle acidity and a lively, fruity bouquet. The TBA balsamic vinegar is a very unusual creation with refreshing acidity; soft and round with a vivid play of aromas and flavours – it provides an ideal spicy touch to seafood dishes.
